Citations from Clippings

I know that this has been a topic in various streams, but wanted to see if something new has come about with the latest releases? Is it possible to get the citation associated with a clipping, which would when I copy the clipping into WORD will populate the citation accurately?

What I am trying to do is to use the clippings capability similiar to what I learned many years ago. Basically, I want to read my book and copy extracts to the clippings. Then once I have the various clippings completed, I desire to sort them into my desired sequence for a paper. Then, from the clipping, I want to copy the clipping extract and paste into WORD, which would create automatically the citation for me. Now, I have to determine ahead of time if I am going to use something and copy and paste into the WORD document to get the citation. Copying from the clipping does not create the citation in WORD. Hope tghat helps.

I have noticed that clippings, while including the bibliographical citation, omits the page citation which is important for academic work, and pretty nice for plain old preachers. I keep my old research and need to know specifically where something was found.

It would seem that it will only copy with citation from the resource itself. I understand the desire to have it paste the citation as well even from the clippings. For now, if your wanting the reference to paste.....just click on the clipping to turn it over and "copy" the citation then paste that into your paper as well. Or just go back to the resource and copy and paste it.

It might be nice to make that citation clickable so that it opens the reference for you if you clicked on it. When I did a paper.....I just went back to the source and copy and paste it.

I have page numbers listed with my citations in clippings. Are you looking at a style that does not use page numbers?
