I am looking to determine the theory of reader response criticism. Any source suggestions are appreciated.

For topics like this, the Factbook is usually the best place to start. There is an article for Reader Response Theory. But chapter 15 of Paula Gooder's book on hermeneutics is also a good resource.

van Iersel, Bas M. F. Mark: A Reader-Response Commentary. Vol. 164. Journal for the Study of the New Testament Supplement Series. London; New York: T&T Clark, 2004. is a solid example of reader-response theory in action.

Detweiler, Robert, ed. Semeia 31 (1985). includes more introductory material as well as examples.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
