BUG? Why are some attributes not available as views in the Miracle interactive?

Because the bubble chart is such a popular visualization, I am disappointed that some attributes are omitted without explanation. Yes, I know the attributes don't have the ideal distribution of values for a bubble chart but there is not an alternative option. Beneficiary, Audience, Theme, and Instrument are omitted.

    I'm a little confused on the ask here. Your screenshot is calling out "Beneficiary", "Audience", etc, but those just seem like they are column titles and no action or data is present from those. Its the items under it that display the data.

    i.e Audience --> disciples.

    Apology if I am missing the ask, but it looks like the UI is just there for organization.

    I'm asking about them in the top row where they control views not in the facet selection panel.

    Can you elaborate on this then? Was this working before or is this more of an ask? It might be more of a feature request if it's something you are seeking which can be added here: https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-desktop-app

    Back in the day ... inconsistencies in the data and/or user interfaces were consider bugs - design or implementation. I report inconsistencies and other lacks in polish as I encounter them. I would not be happy to interrupt my workflow even further by requesting the fix, reporting the problems and trying to wrangle up votes for what ought to be somewhere in the priority list already. Put another way, do you prefer being told you have egg on your face or waiting untill you notice the egg yourself?

    Speaking of "back in the day" ... this one is my doing!

    Memories are hazy. I added the clustering view to the Miracles interactive (and Speaking to God) because it was the fashion at the time and I had a free weekend. I didn't add other visualizations besides the bubbles because I was already gilding the lily — I'm afraid I don't remember all the details, but I suspect that when you say "the attributes don't have the ideal distribution of values for a bubble chart" you've put your finger on it.

    I'm at least confident that I was keen to include as many different clustering criteria as I could, but some didn't pass muster.

    I report inconsistencies and other lacks in polish as I encounter them.

    Much appreciated, as always! For what it's worth, I agree there is some untapped potential here, but it doesn't hamper utility or proper functioning of what is there, so I recommended to Matt not to classify it as a bug.

    Correction: We never shipped my Speaking to God visualization experiments.

    Too bad - I think Logos has made a grave error in moving away from fresh visualizations to boring, static text.  The band wagon I wish everyone would get on (yes I know its 30-year-old technology ... there might be a better way) is to color code xrefs/important texts and display in a chord diagram where one can select filters until you see, for example, just the allusion relationships between Mark and Malachi (mistaken in the text for Isaiah). Or see that Paul's letters have a different pattern of links to the Torah than the Pastoral letters.,

    I recommended to Matt not to classify it as a bug.

    No problem but I truly believe that Logos needs to pay more attention to consistency and polish. Both greatly enhance the users' perception of the product. And I am pleased to see release after release tackling the bugs.

    That sounds an awful lot like the chord diagrams I put into the Bible Books Explorer ... but at a higher level of detail?

    I'll make sure that Mark sees your suggestions.

    Exactly ... and one can market it as data mining.[:D]
