What are some good sources on the appearnaces of Jesus? Why did Jesus appear to the women instead of the Disciples? Doing a search of my library for “post resurrection appearances” provided 121 results.
He did appear to the disciples. He just appeared to the women first because they went to the grave.
He just appeared to the women first because they went to the grave.
And Jesus had no choice in presenting himself to them?
I am doing a paper on the significance of the appearance to the women first. I limited myself to post resurrection. Is that a bad idea or is it compromising my theological demands of the paper. I had to do a paper on Jesus' work with women and how He was a source of peace. How would I find sources?
Does appear the 'pillars' just headed back into town and home. Seems a bit speculative on why the women, but if John was written later than Matthew, the stolen-body problem needed further resolving (Matthew had left the tomb unguarded the 1st night, apparently more interested in the 3rd day prophesy).

You don't say?
I limited myself to post resurrection.
Isn't that inevitable?
How would I find sources?
You should have been given some training in high school about using search engines using specific criteria. Once you find one or two good books that discuss your subject, acquire a copy (in Logos, from Amazon, or elsewhere) and then peruse the bibliography(ies) in that/those book(s) to find other books related to your subject.

Clearly He did...and clearly He chose to reveal Himself first to those who showed up. It seems a more than adequate reason, residing in the shadow of Occam's Razor.

Half a tick beyond pure speculation. Interesting that this popped up right on cue, though.
Also of interest is the fact that the article entirely misses that there are two Sabbaths that occur between the crucifixion and the resurrection--the yearly and the weekly.
