Free or very cheap option?

Hi,

I have the iphone and iPad version of Logos bible software. I was just wondering if there was a very cheap version of logos 4 bible study desktop software by any chance for personal use? I've been looking all over online for a good mac bible study software but couldn't find one better than yours and I really love the software you guys have. I'm not exactly sure if i'll ever be able to afford the $200+ option right now. If there isn't one, it's okay, i guess i'll just have to wait to see if i'll be able to afford it in the future. I wouldn't mind paying for one that was cheaper. I have the Logos Bible 4 beta on my mac, without any bibles or anything and it looks great. I just wish I could buy the package =(

Hi Matthew, a lot of us (at least I did) started small and built them up as finances became available. Some basic starters are the Christian Home Library or one of the packages offered by eBible. However, the eBible products are in the older format and to get version 4 you will have to do what is called a minimal upgrade by calling Logos. I whole heartily recommend the Christian Home Library though. If you call Logos, you might find that they can offer some kind of discount as well, for example if you are a student etc.

It is currently priced about $149. May I suggest you call Jerad at Logos sales and just ask. Worse he can say is no. Best he can say is "what if I ....."

They are very helpful. You might also enquire about the CrossGrade option ($70).

One thing you may want to consider is the fact that when you buy Logos you have the option to buy it on very inexpensive monthly payments. There is no credit check or anything, they just work with you to set up a plan.

I bought Logos 4 Scholars Gold Library for approx $1400.00. And I paid for it on a monthly plan in which I paid about $100.00 per month. So that made it very affordable for me.

Now, you may not want to start with the Scholars Gold. Maybe the Leaders Library at $325.00, or the starting level of the Scholars Library at $630.00 would work, if you bought it using the monthly payment option.

Any way, I just wanted to let you know that whichever base package you decide to buy - you will be able to buy it on monthly payments and that will make the overall expense much easier to handle.

Just a thought.

I couldn't afford to spend much money when I got Logos, so I got the Bible Study Library. If you look around on the internet you can find some coupon codes. then doing the monthly plan you will pay about $30 a month. If you decide you need one of the bigger packages there is an upgrade option which takes into account the base package you have already bought.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the iphone app. Keep in mind that to be able to be able to use any books you may buy in the app (subject to availability of course) is to have a base package. Otherwise you will be limited only to the free books you already use in the app. I don't know if this increases the incentive to consider starting with the cheapest package on a payment plan or not, but you should at least have the information.

You are right Kevin, I was to suggest some free or very cheap packages from Nelson (The Ultimate Library I got for $19) but the fact you need to have a base package to get iPhone Logos linked to the PC/MAC Logos plus many other things like maps, Biblical People, Places and Things makes it by far the best solution to get at least the Home Library base package (I would recommend Bible Study Library though, even over the Leader's Library, it's cheaper, just $264, and have all the Bible tools the same, just minus some leadership books).

When you are ready for a larger package, you are eligible for a special upgrade package price. If you are logged into your account, you can find the upgrade price on the Product tab by clicking on the upgrade package.

If you have any questions, you can contact a sales rep for help.

You never have to pay twice for your Logos resources.

I started with the Bible Study package.

I later upgraded to Scholar's Gold (top package available at the time).

I upgraded to Platinum after L4 became available.

Base packages offer the best values.

Another way to add titles inexpensively is to watch Community Pricing. They are public domain works that Logos users "vote" into production by bidding. A recent 6 volume, 1700 page set went for $6 in CP. It is now $69.95 in Pre-pub.
