I may be wrong but....

It seems like Logos charges for things we already have?? For example... say I buy the Silver package in Logos 9 and then L10 comes out with a better Silver package... seems I have to buy Silver all over again....

Now... maybe I'm wrong in this.... but like I said.... it seems like.....

I'm a interested where my futile thinking is in this.....

"Silver" package refers to a bunch of books/features that are sold together as one unit. They just reuse the name "Silver" each time, but it's a new/different package. It might include some of the books/features that the previous "Silver" package had. But if you already have many of the books/features in it, you will get a dynamic price reflecting that.

You get charged for new content and features. If the new Silver BP has a lot of books you don’t own, then it’ll be a bit expensive to get those; but if only a few new to you books were added then due to dynamic pricing you might end up paying way less for those new books than if you purchased them separately. In the past I’ve bought some BP’s that have been real cheap other not so cheap. I try to buy bilingual BP’s which give me more for less money.

Make sure you are logged in to your account.
Go to THIS page.
Examine the "dynamic price."
Scroll down to Library resources and examine the resources you "own."
Open the link above in a different browser where you are not logged in.
Compare the price from #3 with the one on the new browser.

You bought a Camaro in 1967 ... in 2017 you have to buy a Camaro all over again. Well, you do get a bit off for trade in value or if you've taken good care of it you can sell it as a vintage car at a major profit. "Silver Baptist" is like "Camaro" except there is a new one every other year rather than every year ... and instead of "vintage" it becomes "obsolete".

From the forums, I had gotten the impression that on the Logos side of the house Bibles had to be KJV OR published within the last 3 years [8-|] (Dodging the tomatoes ... yes, I'm joking but there was impatience for the LSB [:D] [:#])

I agree that there is nothing obsolete about resources from previous libraries. I was able to get resources at a cheaper price (compared to purchasing them as stand-alone resources) by buying them through Logos and some Verbum 5/6/7/8 libraries.

I don't know that your question was answered directly.

You do not pay for features again. You can keep your current features forever and Logos will continue to upgrade the software for new operating systems and basic improvements. That's better than most different (I can't use lots of software I bought in the past because rit doesn't work on Windows 10).

If you upgrade to a new version (like the full feature upgrade), they assign a dollar value to each feature you own and those you don't. Your price is (value of unowned features/value of all features)×price of upgrade.

If you do a library instead of a feature upgrade, it is the same thing, except your upgrade price is also prorated for the books you own.
