I am in the process of switching from Accordance (Mac) to Logos. In Accordance, I am use to creating Tabs and switching from Tab to Tab. Does Logos have that capability? The reason that I am asking is when I am working in a particular layout, I would like to search for a particular scripture or verse and not lose my place in my current layout. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

    Hi Lyle

I can't quite tell what you're asking.  I use both Accordance and Logos.  They both have panels (eg big rectangles) into which tabs (each a book/resource) can be added, as below.

In Logos, you can drag/drop a book from your library into a panel>tab.  If you do a search, it typically will try to put the new search tab in the same panel as a previous search or tool (but hard to predict).

If you're wanting the search not to mess up your layout, the best approach is to put a search panel in your layout, but in its settings (3-dots), select 'Send Searches Here'.  Or from the Search Tool, right-click it, and select 'Open in a Floating Window'.

Logos: I have some tabs in the left panel, several search tabs, and a couple Text Comparison panels on the right. Very flexible.

The way I handle it in Logos is to have two copies of my Bible open. One for the layout that repositions only when I initiate the move; the other set to "send hyperlinks here" (on panel menu) which directs links to the second copy.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
