I have marked up nearly 10 books in the NASB 95 version of the Bible. As I mark individual words using the Precept marking tools, there is a 15 second delay in when the mark up appears. After talking to a friend familiar with the Logos 4 program, he helped me discover that there is an issue of marking too much in 1 version of the Bible causing the slowdown.  I marked up a word in the ESV which had no previous markings and there was no delay at all. I am a pastor and a Precept Inductive student who uses the markings on a daily basis and I know many others who are. I feel like Logos does not consider Precept students a priority since I have had marking issues in Libronix that were never addressed or taken seriously! That are many Precept people who purpose and use Logos 4! I would like to know if there are others who are having similar problems and when will Logos take this issue seriously enough to fix it?

Not sure what I can do to help with your issue, except offer a work-around (see below). As far as Logos and Precepts, I'm not aware of any bias for or against the Precepts system, though there may be some copyright issues that prevent any direct integration of the official system and Logos software. Or perhaps Logos simply hasn't pursued it, or prioritized it. I really have no idea. Nor do I have a clue as to how many Precept students actually use Logos. I would not doubt that Logos never intended the system to be used to mark up all the text of an entire Bible.

It's also possible that future iterations of the software will deal with some of these issues.

A work-around, would be to create a section in Highlights for each book of the Bible, or for Bible sections. Then copy the styles from one section to the next. (For example, you could have a section for the Penteteuch, Wisdom Literature, the Gospels, Pauline Epistles, etc.) Doing this would give you the option of turning off sections of highlighting, potentially speeding up Logos' response time. Name these sections as you wish to keep track of them.

Since you're already well into this, you may want to start now, with your current reading, or if you're well into it, start with the next. It may take some erasing and redoing, as you transition into a system like this, but review is always good in Bible study, right?
