Hows Beta Coming Along?

I started with Alpha. Got frustrated and just switched to L4 through VMWareFusion. But is checked in this morning as see L4 Mac is in Beta. I just wondering how it's going? How much longer will it be until there is a fully functionally version for mac? What features are still not available?

Most features are in place. The biggest missing feature from the PC version is handouts. Also, the Mac version does not have the features of the current PC Beta (printing, diagrams) though they will, presumably, come later.

Besides that, several smaller features are missing from different tools, but in the main all the features are in place and working. Notes is still being improved - and still has a fair amount of room for improvement. The program has become fairly stable though in some places it is still sluggish and there is still optimization to be done.

My guess, certainly within a couple of months at most we should see it leave Beta.

The biggest missing feature from the PC version is handouts.

This is because, as I understand it, the handouts are going to be redone. It would make little sense to code the Mac interface for a feature that's going to be scraped and replaced soon.

How much longer will it be until there is a fully functionally version for mac?

I use the Mac Beta6 version now for everything I do. I have seen several other users post that they have done this to.

I say go for it and try it out!

I was in the same boat... I tried Mac Alpha and didn't have the time to try it because so many features were missing, so I just used VMware Fusion. I re-tried it when Beta came out and I have not gone back to using Fusion, except for occasional purposes. Beta still has issues, but it's come a loooong way!

I use the mac beta for my sermon preparation from week to week and am very happy with it. The only feature that I'm eagerly waiting to be finished is notes, apart from that, the quality of the betas are very good.

Plus if you ever do spot any issues with the betas, the development team are always very responsive and helpful.

The Beta is absolutely terrible!

I used to know some of the answers to the many crashes that were about in the good old alpha days. It made me seem almost clever.

Now the horrible Developers have ironed out so many of the problems that the answers are so obscure that only KS4J has a chance of beating the pros to it.

I would stick to Windows version mate - there is likely to much more scope for making a contribution to their forum.

Round here it getting all to high brow.

Beta 5 was frustrating but 6 seems to be better so far. I had several crashes in 5. I use it for everything but I look forward to bullets and numbering to be available in notes and clippings and then will be good to go.

By the time I had read this far in your post, I caught the humor. Does this mean that I understand Scottish, Scot, Scotch {no, that's not a dialect}. [8-|]

I have a few issues with L4 Mac Beta, but that is mainly because I am addicted to some of the coming attractions in 4.1 Beta for Windows. I do have some issues with the Cited by feature which i have posted elsewhere.

If you don't need printing, sentence diagrams, or Cited by, give L4 Mac another try. Even if you need those things, give it a try anyway.

For what it is worth, I use L4Mac daily almost without incident. I find it responsive and complete. I never use Parallels any more, except for quicken.

LOL [:D] Many years ago, learned computers are incredibly stupid - only do exactly what they are told.

Thankful Logos has readable debugging messages - personally still expanding boundaries of ignorance - as learn more, know of more to learn.

Logos 4 Mac => amazing progress this year, very usable - looking forward to more improvements [8-|]
