I cannot search for single English terms within the search function for The Jewish Wars. Why? I can on mobile, but not on PC. What am I doing wrong?

When I try the same search I get results which suggests there may be something wrong with your Logos indices
Try reindexing the book by typing reindex the jewish war in the commnd box and selecting from the dropdown menu.
Let the indexing complete and see if it works properly then.
And I see your posted this in the Wordsearch forum. Did you come to Logos from Wordsearch and, if so, did this book transfer over?
I doubt if that changes anything but wanted to check

I did not come from Wordsearch, I didn't realize that was a prior software version of Logos (If I understand correctly). I attempted to reindex and this did not work.

No - it was that the Wordsearch company was acquired by Logos and Logos offered to transfer resources owned by Wordsearch customers into Logos as they moved across.

Do you mean the reindex command didn't work or it didn't change anything in the search results?
And what happens if you open a search window - click the search icon in the taskbar and search for the word tax in the Josephus volume there?

This is very strange.
