ZipScript will eventually die... But...
Ok, I get it, I am convinced now that Logos is not going to "fix" ZipScript for whatever reasons and eventually ZipScript will fade away into oblivion for lack of updates..... So, I played around with Logos "copy verse" function and will ask...How about changing the "copy verse" function to be more suitable and easier to work with??? Here are some ways I think the "copy verse" command would be better and more helpful in Logos....
1. When "copy verse" is called up... "Ctrl+Alt+B", reposition the cursor position to appear in the verse window where one can start typing the verse they want. Currently, one has to manually reposition the cursor to that window to type in a passage.... This change doesn't seem that hard to do.
2. Allow the user to select their own "Keys" to start the "copy verse" function... for example "Ctrl+Z" which I use now to start ZipScript... I know, the user has a couple of options now, but maybe expand those options to allow users to chose a wider range of keys...
3. Once I type in a verse in the verse window and press enter, automatically copy the verse into the place of my document, where I called "copy verse" from. This greatly simplifies the process and speeds the process up. Or at least copy it to memory whereby I can paste it where I want.
I think a lot of people are like me and do a considerable amount of typing...I believe these changes would help everyone that uses Logos and does any typing at all.
imho .....

How does this differ from what happens when you hit copy and paste? Or are you saying that you want to set a default action - copy OR copy & paste which happens when you hit enter. What would you want to happen when you already have the reference set and have no need to hit enter?
Currently, one has to manually reposition the cursor to that window to type in a passage..
Ctrl+G also gets you there. However, if you have selected the reference in your Bible, you'll want to hit either Copy or Copy & Paste next rather than go to the reference box. So you want to limit the positioning to the reference box so it doesn't occur when you're coming from a Bible selection.
I think where you are headed is desirable but needs a bit of refinement to not lose functionality.

double entry... and extra steps... Not needed.

Still another manual step which I believe is unneeded. Simplify, Simplify, use the KISS principle. We don't need extra steps when they are not needed.
I once had a EE (double E) engineer work for me that you remind me of.... His theory was keep the customer re-defining so we don't have to program....lol

You missed the point - many of us don't need to go to the reference box ... the reference is already set correctly when we open the CBV.
You also fail to say where you want the choice between copy OR copy & paste to be made.
I strongly believe in using the KISS principle and also strongly believe in not removing functionality that many users rely on. Because I rarely enter a reference into the CBV positioning the cursor to enter it would be a royal pain to me, just as not positioning it there is a royal pain to you. The KISS solution has to take both use cases into account. My use splits fairly evenly between copy AND copy & paste so adjusting to there being a default would be an annoyance not a help ... however, it would become a real pain if it executed the default without my asking it to.
I think the difference is that I am normally in a Bible when I open CBV while you are normally in a document - two very different use cases both of which must work smoothly. You need to enter a reference into CBV; I don't. You want the text in your document; I'm divided between wanting it on my clipboard or in my document.

Welll.... my original point was... and still is... that it would be helpful to do some work on the "copy verse" function.... Thanks.

Just trying to help you refine your request to a point where I'd recommend you add it to FeedBear.
