L/V 10+ Tip of the Day #180 New computer login fails

Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. What steps do I need to take to figure out why my new logos install will not accept my username and password? I can login online just fine, but not through the desktop app for some reason. 

update: I called into the support line. I had not changed the time and date setting on the new laptop and that was causing the issue. Once I updated them I was able to log in. Tech support said when they are wrong it does not sync to the server correctly. 

Despite having had this happen to me twice, I still don't remember the answer when the problem arises for others.
