L/V 10+ Tip of the Day #181 Search of pericopes in a particular translation
Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.
This tip is inspired by the forum post: Pericope search in NRSV for printing and for document - Logos Forums
How does I find all pericope headings in he NRSV that contain the word "law"?
- Open a Search panel.
- Select a Book search (not Bible because we're searching pericope headings not Bible text).
- Set the book of NRSV
- Set text field option to Heading text.
- Enter the search argument Law with an optional NOT chapter to eliminate the chapter headings
- Hit enter and observe the results.
So why that silly little extra "NOT chapter"? Well if I change "law" to "*" it will remove the chapter headings and give me only a little over a hundred false positives if I want to see all the pericope headings.
