Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum post: Pericope search in NRSV for printing and for document - Logos Forums

How does I find all pericope headings in he NRSV that contain the word "law"?

  1. Open a Search panel.
  2. Select a Book search (not Bible because we're searching pericope headings not Bible text).
  3. Set the book of NRSV
  4. Set text field option to Heading text.
  5. Enter the search argument Law with an optional NOT chapter to eliminate the chapter headings
  6. Hit enter and observe the results.

So why that silly little extra "NOT chapter"? Well if I change "law" to "*" it will remove the chapter headings and give me only a little over a hundred false positives if I want to see all the pericope headings.
