NAG HAMMADI Question

If I want to use the Ancient Literature guide to locate cross references in the Nag Hammadi and already own THE NAG HAMMADI LIBRARY IN ENGLISH by James M. Robinson, General Editor, Fourth revised edition, is there any advantage to also purchase: Nag Hammadi Texts and the Bible: A Synopsis and Index | Logos Bible Software ?  Would it essentially be duplication? Any advantage to having both?

 The one I own seems comprehensive for cross referencing purposes, but I wanted to check here first as it’s worth asking for $80.

Basically, the one you have (a guide directed at NHL) assumes you're interested in the Bible text, and how it was re-used by other sources (ie Nag Hammadi).

If you got the Synopsis, the view is the opposite; you have NHL directed at the Bible.  Plus the authors rate the similarity of passages, from other scholars.

So, it really depends on what it is that you're studying ... a passage (what you already have), or ancient writings and how they re-used or interpreted the Text.

Personally, I'm more interested in Nag Hammadi, for what type of pattern of Bible use is involved (the Synopsis).  Having a verse(s) that looks like NH (and can quickly display) might be ok, but what other Bible text is being used to create the message/image.  Well-read NH Christians would hear the echos of many texts.
