Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum post: Beta suggestion: Bible Books Explorer and Bible browser - Logos Forums

Sometimes, I swear Logos goes out of its way to hide its best new features. Take this tool Tools -> Interactives -> Bible Books Explorer -> Intertext tab

  1. Select the type of intertextual relationship (citation, quotation, allusion, echo, all)
  2. Select a segment of the arc for the target book and a color for the source book
  3. See the count of the intertext relationships; Note that books without relationships will be grayed out.

To see actual source texts:

  1. Select intertext type
  2. Select target book
  3. Select source book and click
  4. This opens a Bible search panel for your highest priority Bible
  5. Verify the search and hit enter to run the query; read your results.

Note that the diagram simply as displayed by default, gives a very nice overview of the frequency of intertextual relationships between the books of the Bible.

I would like to see cross-references and important passages presented in a similar manner.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
