bug: pick list does not list all valid choices

I entered the Bible search "person:father". I scrolled down to the bottom of the pick list and I noticed that there are no further names after "Chelub (father of Ezri)". I assume that there are people in the Bible who the Factbook l labels as a "father" and whose name begin with a letter higher than "C", so this seems to be a bug. In the screen shot, notice that the scroll bar in the pick list is all the way at the bottom.

I suspected as much.

I wanted to see if there was a further reference to "God the Father", after the list of "C" names.

Can I assume that all of the entries that begin with "Father" are included at the beginning of the pick list and then from there on it lists entries with "father" someone other than the beginning of the tag?

There is a God the Father preaching theme but not person. it appears. I tend to switch to factbook to check for such entries although it may not show duplicate names for different record types e.g. writing and person.

person:God provides a much shorter list to scan for matches...

I'm fairly certain that we promote the prefix matches.

Another option to finding things in the list when you aren't certain how it's titled is to find an example in your Bible, right click on a word there, select the desired person, and use the Copy Reference > Search option. Then you can paste that in your search.

That is generally what I do. But sometimes there are alternate tags in different passages that might look at the same person/thing from a slightly different angle (e.g. person:Jesus and person:Christ.

The Mattew 28:19 example was the reason I wondered if person:God is always a reference to God the Father. But then, in many of the OT passages references to YHWH or elohim are not as clearly references to God the Father. So it appears that the person:God tag has a fair semantic range..

I have the same problem with the Translation panel. When I open the pick list of languages, the list will not go beyond the B's. The screenshot shows my entire list of language choices. This has to be a bug, not a feature.

In that case, the problem is that your sidebar is not wide enough to display the full width of the drop down. However, scrolling with you mouse wheel should still work normally. You can get the scrollbar to show up by dragging the sidebar wider.
