Both of these monographs should be Church History - both are presented in historical order and units.

  • Versluis, Arthur. Magic and Mysticism: An Introduction to Western Esoteric Traditions. Lanham, MD: Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, 2007.
  • Sweeney, Marvin A. Jewish Mysticism: From Ancient Times through Today. Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 2020.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks MJ.! Of the two, Magic and Mysticism is a Faithlife eBook, which means no resource type (sorry, I'm sure you're sick of hearing this from me by now).

Jewish Mysticism is a full Logos resource, though. Taking a look at it, it's certainly a history but it's not exactly a history of the Church, which is how we typically use the "Church History" resource type. I think it should stick as a monograph.
