OLD BUG: Text Comparison Doesn't Recognize Chapter/Verse Shorthand
One of the nice features of Logos, while in a Bible, is if you're at, say Gen 4:6, and then type '14', it knows to go to Gen 4:14. Similarly if you type '8 2' it knows to go to Gen 8:2. Nice. Also remember the tab-key shortcut too.
But not in Text Comparison, which seems imported maybe from Accordance (I made that up). If you type in a number, while in Bibles:
- Happily looks up any milestone with that number, conveniently listing them all. Completely forgets about your Bibles.
- If you stupidly and quickly hit the Enter (as you would do normally), it then not only goes to the first one (never a Bible), but loads in the associated resources too! Disaster!
- But it gets worse. If you use linked Text Comparisons (I do; by language), it happily changes every single Text Comparison to the milestone AND the list of resources. You have to go and repair each individual Text Comparison. Again. And again.
- Now for the Logosian Work-Around-Team, yes, you can re-load a layout. And loose all your Bible study in-between.
I say, let Accordance be Accordance (made that up). We need Logos ease of use here.
TIP: For folks liking Text Comparison, remember you can quickly drag/drop a Bible ref in the TC list of Bibles (or non-Bible as well). This works great, when you like a particular reading, and want to use it elsewhere.
