You'll find that the narrative-critical approach is keen on this kind of research. Here are some sources that inspired my learning about the gospels as coming out of a context of greco-roman biographies:
- Characterization in the Gospels: Reconceiving Narrative Criticism (Sheffield Academic, 1999)
- The Gospels as Stories by Jeannine K. Brown (Baker, 2020)
And these, which are not available in Logos to my knowledge:
- D. A. Russell, “On Reading Plutarch’s Lives,” Greece and Rome 13 (1976)
- The Gospels and Jesus, 2nd ed. by Graham Stanton (Oxford University Press) (this is a good general historical and literary introduction to the gospels)
