Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.
This tip is inspired by the forum post: BUG: Information Panel lacks article citation - Logos Forums
To create a citation to a book:
- Open the book
- Use the Panel Menu to open the Information Panel
- Scroll down to citation (1)
- Select the Citation Style
- Select Copy
- Paste at the desired location
To cite an article within a book:
- Open the book
- Use the Table of Contents to navigate to the article you wish to cite. Note that some resources have a Forward that is citable as an article.
- Use the Panel Menu to open the Information Panel
- Scroll down to citation: book citation (1) and article citation (2)
- Select the Citation Style
- Select Copy article
- Paste at the desired location
Note that the Bibliographic Item index (3) show you whether or not the book is tagged for article citation.
When no Bibliographic item index is available on a book that should have it report the problem to the production staff through the forums or Feed Bear. The book citation will be available but the article citation will not be.
