Best Way to Get Galaxie Journals

I am still buying the quarterly Master Journal Bundles (I've found them useful, and affordable due to the amount of journals I own).

I still want all of Galaxie's content since those are the journals I use the most.

What is the best way to access the content?

Direct buy them once a year in Logos and own the content
Annual Galaxie Subscription in Logos
Annual Galaxie.com Subscription

Also, are there any other journal bundles besides Master and Galaxie I should be considering for my research?

Scholar's Journal Bundle perhaps.

Scholar's Journal Collection (2,844 vols.) | Logos Bible Software

It includes more volumes than the master bundle, but I suspect it has some overlap.

I own both the Master Journal Bundle and Galaxie journals. The only thing that the Scholar's Bundle does not have is Christianity Today and vol 5 by the Kuyper Center Review.

Since the annual subscription in Logos is the same price as in Galaxie's website, I don't see why you would ever rent from them directly. I generally lean towards ownership over rental (although I've been happy with Logos Now/Connect as an alternative to buying full feature sets). My logic is that the deal with Galaxie could fall through at any time and then I would wish I had bought the journals in Logos when I had the chance. If you have the other journal bundles, your cost to own is probably quite low (less than $40 for me) and if , like me, you have less convenient access to new journals through a school, it seems to be a pretty clear choice.

Personally, I prefer to own resources instead of rent them. I was able to get the Galaxie journals a number of years ago when Galaxie sold them.

Wow this thread has been both enlightening and confusing to me. I get the point, subscription (which is renting) at Galaxie has some risk. I was not aware of the product page on Logos for a Galaxie subscription; I have the latest Master Journal Bundle, am I correct in assuming the Logos Galaxie subscription offers me nothing additional? It doesn't appear to at the moment when I checked the page out, if I was in the right place.

Also, the Logos subscription is also a rental, a true subscription, correct? Or is it a subscription to buy the next issues that come out?

I'll check out the one Kuyper volume in the Scholar's bundle. I don't need CT in my research, so I probably won't buy the entire bundle.

I would also prefer to own instead of rent the content when possible. Generally the annual Galaxie bundles have been affordable due to the amount of content I already own, as well as when I keep the Master Bundles current. I wish Logos would do a better job at letting me know when they are available so I don't miss them.

You can subscribe to the Galaxie Subscription from Logos (that's what I was asking about).

It seems if we own all the old Galaxie stuff and are current with the Master Bundles, purchasing the Galaxie Bundles in Logos each year is pretty affordable.

I personally own about 10% of the dollar-value of the content and buying large journal bundles would be cost-prohibitive for me, so I'm glad I can subscribe for $50 yearly fee.

Is the Galaxie Journal Bundle the best way to get a good journal selection started? My payment plans come to an end soon and my church gives me a monthly stipend I could put to a larger collection.

Re Morgan: I primarily use the journals in the Galaxie bundle. My Bachelor/M Div school had a Galaxie subscription, and my professors told me to always go there first for journals. They're the ones I'm the most familiar with and have gotten a ton of use out of.

You can decide if you want to own the bundle (on a payment plan), or you can rent them for $5/month or $50/year (either in Logos or Galaxie.com if you need them outside of Logos).

I have also gotten some good use out of the Master Journal Bundle, so I've been keeping it current. There's been a few things in it that's not in Galaxie that has been useful for wading out into other journals.

I know that this thread is about the Galaxie journals, but the Scholar's Bundle was also discussed. The Scholar's Bundle is included in the Blue Friday sale at a significant discount.
