L/V 10+ Tip of the Day #216 URL - reference vs. resource
Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.
This tip is inspired by the forum post: "Copy URL" problem - Logos Forums
For prioritized source
- open resource
- select text (location)
- right click to open context menu
- select reference on left (tab) side
- select copy location as URL on right (action) side (red box)
- result: https://ref.ly/logosref/Augustine.De_civ._Dei_1.10 which will open the highest priority resource containing the milestone City of God 1.10
For specified source
- open resource
- select text (location)
- click on kebab (three vertical dots) to open panel menu
- select copy location as URL (red box)
- result: https://ref.ly/logosres/cityofgod?ref=Augustine.De+civ.+Dei+1.10 which will open this particular resource to the location
You can verify the behavior by pasting the URL in the comand box, hit enter, and observe what is opened.

Selecting text is not needed as you right-click at the appropriate location.
The second set of steps needs a heading and a screenshot for the red box i.e.
- open resource
- select text (location)
- click on kebab (three vertical dots) to open panel menu
- select copy location as URL (red box)
- result: https://ref.ly/logosres/cityofgod?ref=Augustine.De+civ.+Dei+1.10 which will open this particular resource to the location
Here, selecting text determines the exact location e.g. https://ref.ly/logosres/npnf02?ref=Augustine.De+civ.+Dei+1.10.2&off=2250&ctx=s+injunction+runs%2c+%E2%80%9C~Lay+not+up+for+yours
But you can also position the required text line at the top of the panel and then select copy as URL.

Oops - I omitted a screen shot. I know that for the right click, selecting the text is not necessary if you want only 1 verse (or paragraph or other unit). But selection is required for multiple verses so I intentionally included it. Your post is a great follow up emphasizing options.
