What happened to these two books? Are they being converted to Logos Reader editions?

Living the Sabbath: Discovering the Rhythms of Rest and Delight (Norman Wirzba, Brazos Press, 2006)

Eat with Joy: Redeeming God's Gift of Food (Norman Wirzba, IVP Books, 2012)

These both used to be available (in Ebook format), and I have both in my library. I was reviewing what other Wirzba books to recommend on Feedbear and noticed these are no longer offered in the Logos store. Were they pulled prematurely on the road to becoming Logos Reader editions? It used to be that you kept the Ebook page up until the pre-pub page was ready to go live.

Not being able to buy the book at all in the interim seems unnecessary, unless it's to save you a few bucks by forcing an interested person to wait and buy the Logos Reader edition instead of getting the free upgrade. But you've got a ready sale in the hand, you might be giving up two in the bush. If you don't make that sale, that person might forget about it and not buy the book at all.

If there's some other reason why they were pulled, I'll add these two on Feedbear as requests to bring them back.

Usually, if I am looking for a book it’s because I need it now or soon. So I check my subscription ebook library first, then Logos, then Kindle. The first place I find it, I get it. If I don’t find it the first time I check Logos, the sale is lost. Prepubs are normally for something I’m interested in but most books I get it’s because I am preparing for something or thinking about a particular subject and am looking for a specific book (which is why the new search engine is going to cost me a lot!)

So your point is right Rosie. Pulling ebooks before a Logos edition is ready loses sales, at least from me.

Hi Rosie, I took a look at both of these. The first was pulled years ago, so I can't speak to the "why" behind it. The second was pulled by the publisher from the ebook's site in January. Neither are in the process of being converted into Logos editions. Whenever we can, we like to leave resources on the site but there are a multitude of reasons why we need to pull titles during the upcycle process.

Thanks, Mitch. I'm glad at least that I get to keep these books even though they've been pulled from the site. I've always appreciated that Logos policy.
