Parks, James. All the Turning Points in the Bible. Faithlife Biblical and Theological Lists. Bellingham, WA: Faithlife, 2021. This resource says (error in bold):

Mt 4:18–22, Mk 1:16–20, Lk 5:1–11, and Jn 1:42 record a turning point for Peter, which he experienced after being given a new name by God. This turning point was a response to God and Jesus.

Everything I can find in my Bible points to the new name being given AFTER the turning point e.g. Mt 16:18. Can you justify the position taken by the resource created by FL?

    It looks like two instance were conflated and we just published one rather than 2 experiences for Peter. I'll get that fixed in the data.
