Notes Window Freezes Program
I've been having a problem for about a week where the Notes window seems to freeze the entire desktop version. It will be difficult to capture a log of it, because it's intermittent, occurring perhaps 10% of the time.
I use the free version, though I have many books in my library because I'm a longtime Bible software user, and I've been migrated several times to a new program when my previous one was bought out, bringing my library along with me.
Sequence of events:
- I have a custom layout open with five panes: a collection of books in one, three panes with individual books, and one pane for Search.
- I right-click a verse in the collection pane and select Add a Note.
- A new pane opens with a Note for that reference.
- I enter my note.
- When I attempt to close the Note pane, the X close button is nonresponsive. The same is true of the pane with my books--when I attempt to go back to it, the program is frozen.
- The X close button for the entire program is also nonresponsive, requiring Task Manager to close it.
- Task Manager has several Logos processes open, including several that say something like PEF.
- I must End Task to close the program.
- When I re-open it, everything is fine. I'm able to create multiple notes, and eventually the freeze recurs.
I've seen several other posts about similar problems in the past, including a recent one where I initially posted about this. But a moderator felt my problem was sufficiently different to indicate a new thread.

Can you confirm the version of Logos you are using (you see it in the pane when opening Logos).
Also provide some logs (upload the zip file before you restart Logos, using the paperclip icon)

Dave, I was on free version 26.0.1, but there was an update, so I'm now on 26.1.32. (I had assumed I'd be notified of available updates--my bad.)
Because the problem is intermittent (and may or may not recur since the update), I think I've successfully enabled permanent logging. If it recurs, I'll submit the log. In the meantime, this issue can be placed on hold. For potential future readers, if I don't post again here, it can be assumed not to have recurred.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Kathy
It is a good idea to keep an eye on the blue button at the bottom of the home page.
It give some useful information.

👍 I've been using Logos since it took over my previous program, and I've been through that buyout transition about four times over decades of Bible software use. Still need to dig deeply into Logos and learn more features and functions.....
