I have set a custom layout for reading plans, which works fine when I open a Bible reading plan. However, when I open a reading plan for a book other than the Bible it uses the default layout. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a separate layout for other books that I'm missing?

There is no special layout for non-Bible reading plans. This is because if you customized it, it would have no ability to adjust to include the specific book you are reading (customized QuickStart layouts are static and always display exactly what you define). This would make it annoying to use (you  would have to adjust it every time you created a new reading plan) and useless if you ever had more than one reading plan active at a time.

This is why the QuickStart layout is called "Bible Reading Plan", to help indicate that it only applies to Bibles.
