I am taking a class on the Iron age in the Levant next semester and want to gain some knowledge. What are good sources on the topic?
try using Search - Logos Bible Study and the bibliographies/footnotes of resources that got you to this question.
I just finished re-reading:
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=1177+b.c.+the+year+civilization+collapsed&crid=2C6GULR8DWIC8
It discusses potentially why the late Bronze failed; with the subsequent re-development in the early Iron. It's a nice read; I think to understand the Iron, one needs to explore the failure in the Bronze. He has an upcoming 'after the Bronze' coming up in 2024.
The other problem, is the Iron is in 2 segments, and then further segmented. So, saying 'the Iron Age' is a fairly shifting sequence.
My favorite from Logos:
Exploring the Narrative: Jerusalem and Jordan in the Bronze and Iron Ages which are articles from the archaeology; not a top-view discussion.
