Current Practice on Logos Website with Respect to Logos Research Editions

I have discovered that the current practice Logos has adopted regarding Logos Research Editions is to place this critically useful information under a Learn More link.

I found this to be so by chance when investigating a certain resource: A Historical Theology of the Hebrew Bible by Konrad Schmid.

I find this to be a little confusing as my first impression was that it was a Readers Edition this feature should be rethought as it is not the most straight forward way to convey this information.

Whether an edition is a Readers edition or a Research edition or an E-book should be instantly apparent as it may determine whether or not the resource will be purchased.

I was going thru the newbie books today wondering who OK'd this strange system. It doesn't look simple, easy + fun. L, please make it customer friendly.

I must admit until I read this I had assumed (wrongly) that "Logos Edition" meant "Research Edition". I had no idea that there are actually two types of Logos Edition!

It appears that ebooks from the Faithlife ebooks website are now being ported over to the Logos website. Previously these books would show up in search results on the Logos site but take you over to Faithlife ebooks to actually purchase them, because they were ebook editions. Now you seem to be able to purchase them on either site, possibly adding to the confusion over versions.

They seem to be moving over more and more ebooks each day. I had checked a few weeks ago for a particular resource because I wanted to buy it on the Logos site using the save more coupon. It was still only available on Faithlife ebooks. Then lo and behold, I checked again last week and it was now available to buy through the Logos site as well.

Perhaps this was something that may have been discussed when we were asked to give our suggestions for how to improve the experience on logos.com.

Well my suggestion is don't hide the most relevant features of your products. Front this information in the most obvious manner possible.

I don't know who in Logos needs to hear this message in order to get this practice to change. But, whomever it is I hope you hear this and work to make an immediate and permanent change.

If you need more graphic suggestions just ask I'll be happy to give my ideas.

A couple years ago or so, FL created a second tier of Logos Edition. This was done for at least two reasons. 1) to indicate that a book would not have ALL the features, but WOULD have improved formatting and page numbers over the ebooks in FLEB and 2) to allow faster (even same day) inclusion of sources from a book’s release date.

If a book is released on the same day as it is published, it is most likely the lower tier.
