Weird Copy & Paste behavior

When I use Copy & Paste from CBV (and Pages is selected) it seems to decide which document it wants to copy into (when I have multiple Pages documents open) no matter which document is in front. And sometime it decides that it is going to paste into a text box and sometimes it will simply paste in-line where ever the cursor is.

Is there any way to reliably select which document in Pages to paste into with Copy & Paste (when multiple Pages documents are open)? And, is there any way to reliably make it paste in-line rather than in a text box?

I have Pages 09 (Version 4.0.3). It works fine for me on both counts.

What version of Pages do you have? (Check the "About Pages" menu item)

I have the latest version. And it works for me, it just works inconsistently in reference to how it pastes and which open document it pastes into. It is ver frustrating. I wish I could figure it out.

Yes: rather than using the "Copy & Paste" button, use the "Copy" button, and then paste it exactly where you want it.

Thank you David. This is what I do when it does not do what I want. I was just hoping that since there was a copy and paste button I might be able to get it to work predictably or at least get some tips on how it is supposed to work.
