Can closing a tab go to the previous tab (to left) instead of the next tab (to right)?

I didn't find this topic elsewhere, but here's one example: I tap to open a link from a resource or guide to open a target resource, read and then close that target resource, then it shifts to the next open tab to the right instead of taking me back to the original resource or guide to the left. This is especially cumbersome with guides that have multiple links to explore. Can this be changed so I don't have to swipe back to the original tab each time? If not, I highly recommend it. Thank you.
