Study on sayings...

Hi,

I'm wondering how you would go about doing a study on the meaning of sayings, not the words themselves but why they are used they way they are.

For instance, and my reason for posting, Jesus often says 'Truly truly', repeated twice.

I was wondering why its repeated and how you would use Logos to find this sort of information.

Use Morph Search:

This construction rules out words that occur 3 times in succession  e.g. "woe, woe, woe" in Rev 8:13.

I specify a range of Matt 1:18-Rev to exclude results from the Genealogy of Jesus Christ.

You can use your own Parts of Speech

In building for yourself, put the Span 2 Words line after In Order for clarity.

A Search of commentaries for "Truly, truly" in Jn 13 should provide an answer  (Jn 13 is where it occurs most often).
