No, the Abridged 2-volumes series does not contain the articles of EBC (old) volume 1.

The abridged version has two volumes (OT & NT) but they can be purchased separately. I believe only one of the volumes was $29.95 when it was on sale, not the two volumes OT and NT.
You can buy the print version for $59 at Amazon. Its even a hardcover. Kindle version is only $47.

It gives you a condensed version without having to read the entire original, so I’d say it’s good. I have both full sets original and revised but I’ve always wanted the smaller version for reference.
