I have “Logos Now - no library ” it renews every August 19. I’m thinking of canceling but what would I lose?
That's also what I have, though in my emails it's listed as "Faithlife Connect Essentials - No library (formerly Logos Now)".
I enjoy having all the features all the time. I also like the two six-month access temporary licenses to courses. I always get the 2 PD books each month, but I'll eventually run out of reasonable candidates for those. Plus, there's the 2% coupon each year which theoretically could pay for what I'm paying for FL Connect; however, I really don't spend that much in a year. I don't think I've ever gotten "exclusive deals" because there's usually nothing enticing enough. But FL Connect seems to fit where I am right now.
Of course, your mileage may vary.
What Lew said, but the amount of features depends on what your base feature package is. I have not been buying the features with my library base package since I have Faithlife Connect so I would lose features, data sets and resources included in the subscription that I have not purchased.
Exactly, John. Thank you for clarifying!
I should've added that but, too, because that has been my buying strategy since I knew features were already available to me through FL Connect.

Define everything 🤨🧐🤔

Actually, canceling is only bad if you have not upgraded features; other than that, it really isn’t that great anymore — especially, since the Lexham Press book used to be free and now it’s only 25% off. Furthermore, the 3 ebooks are all old works and many of them unknown. The only thing now worthwhile IF you have the time to watch them, are the two courses you get to access for 180 days each and even that comes to an end when you’ve watched them all. And the 2% money back, is not worth it either. You have to spend a lo of money to see a worthwhile refund; e.g. spend $5K to get $100 back. That’s too much spending for a small return and you can’t even use it to pay for your subscription to FL Connect. So the membership doesn’t really pay for itself when you “get” 3 free old books and then buy a Lexham Press title at 25% discount and if you don’t use the discount, you lose it.
Personally, this is my last year having FL Connect Essentials No Library. I can watch all my courses on iPad or listen to them on my iPhone, cause FL TV’s future is uncertain. Hopefully, Logos’s future can remain certain for many years to come.

Indeed, if you change your mind and regret your decision you cannot get the same terms upon renewal.
That is also a significant piece of the puzzle that I failed to mention. For me, the benefits are rich enough I don't think about it much any longer and I'll keep Connect for the foreseeable future.
I figured it out a few years ago and found that staying on Connect is cheaper than upgrading the features every two years.
On Connect, you get all features. As mentioned above, you would lose all features except the basic things that come with the free version, unless you have purchased features in the past.
I reasoned differently than some. I prefer to own what I have, so I buy in order not to lose it if my priorities or my financial situation change. For example, I’m thinking about NOT upgrading to 11 (or whatever they’ll call it) this time because it feels like overkill for my needs.
Of course everyone here has different priorities and Connect may be better for them. But I want to keep what I have.

Same here. I like to own what I have. If I had chosen to rent L7 and just keep L6 features, then I decide to cancel that would mean I’d have no features from L7 through L10 so it would be too much to lose. It’s better to own, is not like a car that will depreciate it just has more value. But to each his own.
With the understanding that everybody’s financial abilities are different, another thing that I considered is whether or not I want to leave my Logos to someone in my will, once I pass. Do I want (or care) them to have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to update to the latest features? Since Logos will not sell features individually, all it takes is a couple of features that the new owner wants and they will have to pay. For me, I can afford it right now and keep buying the full feature upgrade. This way, if I do bequeath my Logos to someone, it’ll truly be a gift for them.
if I do bequeath my Logos to someone
Happily the subscription is transferable as per Customer Service.[:)]

That is good news.
I agree. Even though I am subscribed to Faithlife Connect I still continue to buy the feature sets (also because I already have to buy most of the features as part of the non-English base packages).
For me the 2 video courses and the 2% reward are the main advantages of the subscription.

Shalom Beloved Amodeo!
are you indicating that non-English base packages are not included as part and parcel of the features that are updated by the Connect rental?
Correct. With a non-English base package you have to buy both the library and the feature set:
Personally I do not mind. Translating the features into other languages costs a lot of time and money.

That’s how it used to be back in the old days with Logos and Libronix. It’s actually cheaper than paying for the features separately. I always upgrade to a Spanish/English bilingual first because is cheaper and then add more libraries on top of that.

Only the Chinese, Korean and Spanish Logos base packages have a bilingual tier (Verbum: only Spanish).
With the release of Logos 10 the Verbum base packages were more expensive for Connect subscribers because the Verbum and Logos feature sets were no longer identical. For this reason I did not buy a Verbum upgrade right away. But after having upgraded to the top Spanish-English bilingual Logos package it was very affordable to add a Verbum bilingual package and in the end I crossgraded to Verbum Ultimate much faster than I had thought.
Wow...this thread generated some good conversation. After reading through, I decided to keep the subscription.
That’s the whole point 👌 You need to read all the personal perspectives so you can make an informed decision regardless whether I like or dislike the benefits. Some have canceled because they buy anyway and the benefits are not appealing; others choose not to cancel because having the features is all they care about.
FYI, sometimes features are around $200-300 bucks, so it works out around the same price either way.
