After fourteen years I've just reluctantly unsubscribed from Logos emails. It isn't because I don't want to hear about offers and so on, but because I don't want to receive multiple emails daily, and I don't want to receive emails promoting stuff I already own. Before unsubscribing I checked to see if there were any options to receive emails less frequently and there aren't, so I reluctantly unchecked the box and clicked Submit. Deleting multiple emails daily has finally become more irksome than the loss of the birthday coupon, especially if I come to my email after a few days away from it (which happens increasingly frequently now I'm retired). I know I could set up a rule to move them to another folder, but when I did that, I had to make a separate journey to that folder to check them, and eventually I gave up on that. There are a couple of things Logos could do to make this better for us (or at least for me!)
- On the email subscription page, make it possible to sign up for a weekly or monthly digest. I'd go for that, and would be more likely to read the email in full - up until now I tended to open it, hover for about ten seconds to skim it and then delete it if I saw nothing of interest in that time.
- Don't include resources I already own on promotional emails - that just annoys me because I probably paid more for them than you're offering them for now. It also wastes my time, which is probably the more serious issue.
- Plan your email campaigns and co-ordinate them between different sections of the Marketing Department so that you aren't sending out multiple opportunistic emails on the same day.
