Duplicate Personal Book does not appear in Personal Books list

Somehow I created a duplicate personal book as you can see here from my Library:

I want to delete one of them, but when I go to my Personal Books list, only one is present:

Not sure how this happened; I suspect it was when I changed the location for the underlying files and had to rebuild the book.

In any case, I want to remove the book from my library that is not showing up in my PBB list but I can't figure out how to do that. Any ideas?

Just hide it in the library. You gave two different cover pictures, so I'd assume it's the one with the photo of a head on it.

Right-click the first one and Remove it (more permanent than Hide). If necessary try both as you can always recompile the book.

When I right-click, there is no option to Hide or Remove.

Recompiling the book doesn't work either.

Does the other PB also show "Download"? Which book will open when clicked?

To see "Hide" you have to hold CTRL key when right-clicking. Do both show "Hide"?

Go to the resource Information page (from the Panel menu), copy the Support Info at the bottom and paste the text for both PB's into your next post.

So, the book with the head photo is the "bad" one (ie, does not appear in PBB list). When I right-click on it, I can "Remove from Device", which works, and subsequently "Download" it, which also works. In addition, the Information panel contains a section called "Devices".

However, on the other book, the "good" one, when I right click and choose "Remove from Device" it doesn't do anything. (This is the behavior of all the other PBB books in the list). It does not have a "Devices" section in the Information panel either.

I've just decided to Hide the extra books and call it a day. This does not sit well with the OCD engineer in me, however. [:D]

It seems that the initially compiled PB was at one time uploaded to the server, perhaps for purpose of synchronizing on some other devices. Once a PB has been uploaded to server, the only option to eliminate it in the library is to hide it.

I am actually experiencing the same issue, so I’m guessing it’s a bug in the software. I don’t recall ever having uploaded either copy of the book to the server, as I don’t typically do that.

Hmn ... have you tried the steps for uploading and deleting PBs that are listed on the wiki page I mentioned above ? which step does not work?

Here's a trick you can try ... If you can't delete a PB from the PBB tool, try to "fake delete" it by using "Edit" and just change title, author, cover pic, etc. and source *.docx file(s) and then rebuild the PB. That way, the existing PB file is re-used but will content wise be essentially a "new" different PB which will have "replaced" the one you had wanted to delete.
