L/V 10+ Tip of the Day #291 Expand/collapse status of Guide sections in saved layouts
Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.
This tip is inspired by the forum post: Workspace - Logos Forums
The original question was "why, when I carefully save the layout with all Passage Guide sections closed, does it often open with a section expanded?"
Andrew Batishko said:The expand/collapse state of Guide sections is not saved as part of the layout. Instead, it is a system-wide preference that is updated when a panel is closed. The expand/collapse state should initialize to the last state the Commentaries section had when any Guide containing that section was closed.
In other words, the expand/collapse state is dependent upon the last time you closed the Guide without regard to when you saved the layout.
