Inductive study icons/highlights

Hi,

I tried searching all over and can't quite get my head around this.

I'm also relatively new to the inductive study thing, so apologies if I don't get the terminology right.

I'm trying to get into inductive Bible study, and I can see there are some default inductive icons/highlights available with Logos.

However, they appear to be a very small subset of the ones I've seen online all over Google.

I may be missing the point, but shouldn't there be many more provided, as it seems quite tricky and time-consuming to add your own, at least if you want to do that for more than 2 or 3 custom highlights?

Is there a custom set I can download from somewhere that I can import easily into Logos, or is one meant to make do with the basic set provided?

    Hi Tim,

There are a couple of different ways to get additional highlighting palettes into your Logos. You can download some of the publicly available ones or you can create your own. Below are the steps with pictures.

Option #1: Download publicly available palettes.

    1: Open "Documents"

    2: Click "Public"

3: Search for the word "Inductive"

    4. Select "Highlighting Palette"

5: Choose a shared pallet and select "Add to your Docs"

    .

    Option #2: Create your own

1: Go to Tools > Content > Highlighting

    2. Once the highlighting tool is open, Click on "New Palette"

    3. Give your new palette a name.

    4. Right click on your new palette and select "Add a new Style".

    5. Name your new style, build it and then save it. The new style will then show under your new palette.

    6. If you need to delete a palette that doesn't meet your needs, either right click on it or the little dropdown arrow to the right of it to delete it.

    .

Thank you so much for this, I had no idea that adding public documents was even a feature, let alone that you could add highlighting palettes through it!

    Blessings,
    Tim

@Tim Bader If you have downloaded a highlight, will you be able to use them on mobile then also.

    Hi @Lukas yes you can!

    Although it’s not immediately obvious.

When you go to highlight a word or phrase on mobile (by tap and hold on the word, for example), you’ll see a shortlist of most recently used highlights.

Tap the 3 dots icon to the right of the list, and select Additional Styles.

You’ll then see all the highlights palettes you’ve previously downloaded, and you can expand or collapse any of them and select the specific highlight you want.

    Hope that helps!

@Tim Bader I work mostly on Ipad, as I can only do the download on my sons desktop. Which one is the best to download and able to use on Ipad also. Can you please guide me.

Hi @Lukas , apologies but I don’t know for sure because it’s been a while since I had Logos on an iPad.

However, from what I remember, it’s generally easier to download the highlights palette on a desktop/laptop PC or Mac. (But you only have to do that once).

One you have the custom highlights palettes downloaded, you’ll be able to use them from any device where Logos is installed.

I’m guessing that Logos on iPad works similarly to Logos iPhone (whereI’m using it), so would allow the same 3 dots menu thing I mentioned above.

On the Mac (probably similar to PC), you can also open the highlights toolbar/panel, whatever it’s called, from the tools menu IIRC. This gives the same functionality, but you may find it more flexible, depending what you’re doing.
