ATTN Mark Barnes: BUG: Right-click "Close all windows" doesn't work if you have floating windows

Here's a more detailed and consistent repro case of this old bug that has been annoying me for a long time:

(Running Windows 10)

1. Pin Logos icon to the taskbar if it's not already there.

2. Make sure at least one other (non-Logos) app is running: File Manager, browser, anything...

3. Open Logos.

4. Open the Library in a floating window (Ctrl+L).

5. Alt+Tab to put the focus back in the main Logos window.

6. Alt+Tab to any another non-Logos app, just anything so that Logos doesn't have the focus.

7. Right-click on the Logos icon, and select "Close all windows".

RESULT: It closes the Library and beeps (as if it was trying to do something but couldn't), but doesn't close the main Logos window. EXPECT: As with any other Windows app, when you select "Close all windows" it should close all windows the app had open at the time, including the main app window. I.e., it should close the app.

This is an old bug that has been around forever (I reported it first in L8). Philana Crouch created a bug report for it on Nov 4, 2018, but she's no longer with the company and I guess nobody else has followed up on that bug report since then.

The bug is still there in L28.034, and I still find it extremely annoying. I know the developers have been cleaning up a lot of old bugs lately. I'd really appreciate if you nudged them on this one. My bumps of this thread in Sept 3 years ago and again about 3 weeks ago have been ignored.

https://community.logos.com/forums/t/174497.aspx

One other person on that thread mentioned difficulty reproducing this bug, but it happens for me all the time, because of the order in which I tend to do things: I'm always running Logos and other apps concurrently, and I always keep my Library up in a floating window to have it quickly accessible, but it's often not the top-most Logos window, and I often switch away from Logos to do other things in other apps. And I sometimes find, when Logos is not currently in use, that I need to close Logos quickly to free up some memory if my machine starts running slowly but I don't have time at the moment to shut everything down and reboot it.

Thanks.

The team was discussing this internally on September 5. The case hasn't been moved to "To Do" (indicating that it's selected for development soon), though.

Thanks for the update, Bradley. It doesn't sound like it would be that hard to fix. So I hope it gets selected for development in the not-too-distant future. Yes, there is a workaround, just hover over the Logos icon and close the app by clicking on the "X" of the main window thumbnail. But I'm not sure why doing that exact same behavior can't be attached to choosing "Close all windows." Oh well, I'll survive.
