Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum post: none

Examples of fixed passages lists:

This is a personal use tip. I recognize that many prefer to use Favorites for this, but I like to use Passage lists because:

  • I can easily switch between showing only the reference or the reference and text
  • I can easily switch or add translations

Secondly, I use prefixes such as LIST: or LAW: to indicate that these are permanent passage lists in contrast to the lists that serve for a task or project and then disappear.

Examples of what I have in such lists:

  • LAW: Mitzvot Commandments of the Law
  • LAW: Priestly Code Passage List
  • LIST: Beatitudes of Revelation
  • LIST: Biblical Canticles
  • LIST: Deposed firstborn in Genesis
  • LIST: Five laments of Revelation 18
  • LIST: Haustafeln Passage List
  • LIST: Holy Thursday: Orthodox 12 Gospels
  • LIST: I AM's of John
  • LIST: Messianic prophecies
  • LIST: Missing Verses Passage List
  • LIST: Rabbinic Messianic Prophecies
  • LIST: Rastafari verses supporting the use of ganga
  • LIST: Suffering Servant Songs
  • LIST: The Christ Creed
  • LIST: Tre Ore: Seven Last Words

I also have list based on liturgical use.

What lists would you find useful? or what lists do you maintain?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
