Backing up Logos Library Resources to thumb drive - How Big? Using Windows 11

I have Logos Scholar's Silver edition and some added resources My current PC and Samsung tablet are more than capable of running Logos 10. However, I do want to safeguard my digital collection of books by backing them up to a solid-state thumb drive. Once done, I'll put the drive away. My PC's hard drive is a 512GB. I just want to back up the Logos resources. How much space is taken up and what size thumb drive is needed?

I did find an old entry; however, I need to ask "I'm using Logos 10 on a Windows 11 PC" Anything different?

That depends on the size and number of your resources. Locate the Resources folder, and check its size. (In Windows, do a right-click and select properties).

This page also documents how to backup and restore resource files.

Keep in mind that backing up the files does not back up your licenses. It will avoid having to re-download them again which will save time/bandwidth. But you still have to reactivate a new installation.

There is no need: they are in the cloud. If you need to reinstall the software, you can redownload.

Yep. That was what they promised for Libby. Then, in a flash, Libby support was gone. I'm obviously exaggerating (Bob actually kept support for several years).

But the point is that 'downloading' is well and good, as long as you keep up on hardware/software. Else backups (Libby long life is due to great backups). Bibleworks also provided for long-term backup.

Thanks for the inputs.

Here's what is happening behind the scenes. Though I'm in the US, I've been running into people expressing concerns about AI being used to rewrite Bible translations or other types of mayhem. As such, I was not sure of the integrity of the digital e-books in my Logos Library collection. As for my books on the Fire Tablet, they are books brought from Amazon. Two separate things.

That is why I came here to see about backing up my Logos stuff on an external hard drive.

Because I am visually impaired, it is a lot more important to me that I safeguard my digital copy of the Bible. I can say the same thing for my audio Bible.

I have 2- 4T I backup to, they are protected so that intrusion is "almost" impossible. HD 1- computer backup; HD 2 is a mirror, which I do manually then disconnect from system.

Once Earthly Governments get this going- there will be no way of blocking them- our only protection will be disconnect from internet.

That is why I came here to see about backing up my Logos stuff on an external hard drive.

I have a personal backup of resources, so nothing wrong with that and it could save you downloading time during a later installation.
