When I select resource text with the mouse, a popup comes up with options such as highlight text and copy. Is there a way to disable the popups? I couldn’t find anything in Program Settings.
In program settings, scroll down to the "Text Display" section and set the "Show Selection Menu" option to no.
That did it, thanks so much! Don’t know how I missed it before.
So, I say NO to the selection menu.
Now, I want to delete the highlight on a word. How do I do that?
I would right-click the word, ensure it is selected and then choose the Delete notes and highlights option

Thank you, Graham. I used your method suggestion. On a Mac, it works with the Control button.
Overall, I will stick with the selection tray on offer, as it has less steps.
Appreciate the help.
In the Windows version, a highlight can also be deleted by selecting the text with the highlight, and pressing the shortcut key Shift-Ctrl K.
Shift+Cmd+K on a Mac.
Thank you for asking that question, Keith. I have been trying to figure out how to do that myself. Thank you, Kiyah, for providing the answer.
