missing words in interlinears? [resolved]

Not really sure the title explains the problem correctly...truth is, i don't know the proper terminology.

The problem I'm having is that when I try to use the interlinear for any Bible translation, the word i'm looking for "son" is missing. It display all else except "son".

Luke 3:23: Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli,

I had to go to Studylight.org (I know that the built in Strong's has it in Logos4, but I have to hunt for it, I'm still a noob here) to find the reference i was needing. See next image:

So the reference does exist...but it just isn't showing up for me in Logos4. I'm hoping to use Logos4 exclusively (vs using outside sites like Studylight.org).

Do I need to set something up here in my Logos4 to show the full passage? Or is this a bug? I don't know why it isn't showing, just that it seems like it should.

It's simply that 'son' isn't in the original Greek manuscript at this point. That's what the dots represent. A very literal translation of this verses would say "the son (as it was thought) of Joseph, of Eli, of Matthat, of Levi, etc.

But Strong's says it is (see 2nd image in the first post). I just had to use an external source (outside of Logos4) to see it.

Also, while playing around w/ the Exegetical guide feature, I got it to appear. I plugged in Luke 3:23 in the guide, and up popped the exegetical guides for the verse, as well as the ESV interlinear reference:

So it does appear...it just won't appear conveniently for some reason (you are forced to use the guide).

Thus, wouldn't this be a legitimate bug in the system?

Nevermind. upon further review, there are 2 different parts of the verse that Logos4 is looking at. It does show the Greek for the first part, but not the subsequent references to son (and I think this is what you were saying).

When I used the exegetical study, it referenced the part of the verse with the first reference to son. When I typed in Luke 3:23 in the homepage for Bible Study, it goes immediately to the 2nd part of the verse, thus causing the confusion on my part.
