Whatever Happened to Bible Study Magazine? Yes, I Know.

Now that Logos is an advertising medium (vs Bible study), that reminded me of the Bible Study magazine that went belly-up.
Its articles sort of bounced between soft-evangels (my term, though it looks suspiciously like a Qumran accusation). And great articles on Logos.
For years (I think), they refused to let it be in Logos; paper only!! Then it went belly-up. All four legs wiggle-waggling. You'd have thought (!) it'd be the perfect training and advertising medium for Logos ... but nooooooo.
Better to kill it, and begin the process of commercializing the apps (pay for themselves!!).
I don't know what the BSM process was (probably high fixed costs; printing and all that). But I was impressed at the authors contributing. Meaningful. And details on the Logos development and use ... an area I've criticized for not recognizing great work.
Well, so we get a banner! Yahoo! "Get our training, our app is so difficult to use!'. True.
Added: Someone is going to think ... gee, don't they have a blog or something?

It did actually make it to digital before it was canceled, the old issues that made it are still available to buy see: https://www.logos.com/search?query=Bible%20Study%20Magazine%2C%20Volume&sortBy=Relevance&limit=30&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=availableToMe
We were also told the columnists from Bible Study Magazine would carry over onto the blogs https://www.logos.com/grow/bible-study-magazine/
Ultimately a shame that is was cancelled.

Thank you, Dave. Extra info.
Carrying into the blogs didn't work very well. Best I can tell, can't tell what was new. Instead, minutes to read, and how many weeks ago. Also, can't tell if worth reading, like a magazine. Then ... need I mention the power of Logos! ... blogs not available in searches, notes, highlights, and so forth.

To me, BSM, FL Giving, and other products were a clear example of undertaking too much or biting more than you can chew. Make Logos the main focus and allow it to present on its own like presentation mode or present directly from the screen, because quite frankly, even proclaim is redundant to power point or other presentation softwares out there. Stick with the cow that gives you the milk 🥛

But what if they carefully camoflage the cow? Oh, wait, you click on the advertising banner for milk-retrieval. Joking.

There’s a prepub up for a digital version of the issues that were never Digital. Still only at “gathering interest” though.

Agreed; I liked this magazine. It wasn't overly technical which I liked. Usually had a special deal inside each issue as well. They were terrible with digital distribution though.

I liked the magazine but do not like the online blog. It is too catchy and always has pop ups and ads.
