Depends on your library (of course). The easiest way to find discussions (that I've seen), is 'atonement NEAR akkadian'. This simply locates initial discussion of the origin (not just akkadian and 'cover'). There's also linkage on the Egyptian side to seven and completeness.
Out of curiosity, I checked my Chicago Assyrian Dictionary (Akkadian). Any linkage there is a long-shot; at most magic rites and punishment, but mainly a utilitarian word relative to sealing with bitumen.
But before you get too far, just search 'atonement' to see which books in your library have decent Old Testament discussion. You might limit the search to 'large text' or 'heading'. For example Eerdmans Dictionary of Early Judaism has a good article (see below).
If you search on the web for atonement and akkadian, you'll run into John Walton's article, rejecting the akkadian linkage (if interested).
