BUG or Choice? Inconsistent Apparatus Tagging

Here I have open three text apparati...Tyndale House GNT, SBLGNT, and NA28. The SBLGNT works differently, citing Gk texts rather than manuscripts (which is fine...helpful, in fact).

The THGNT and NA28 are where the puzzling difference is. Here are screenshots of a mouse-hover over the Codes Sinaiticus aleph. Note that the THGNT popup give much more useful information, including the common name as well as the aleph and number designator; the NA28 does not even give the common name of the codex.

Is this an oversight or is it something required by the NA folks?

    Hi Doc.

Neither a bug nor a choice, just representing the data of each edition as each edition supplies it.

Note, however, in Logos 10 editions, GNT manuscript sigla are known by Factbook, so extra (consistent) information is available as well as links to the manuscripts resources (that were part of Logos 9).

First image is hover (on NA28 apparatus), second image is right-click context menu. Note the Factbook icon (book with checkmark) is selected, and the light blue underlines representing text with Factbook information available.

    Agree on NA28.

But just yesterday, I was making a visual filter for the Tyndale apparatus. It's nicely packaged.

    Helpful...thanks, Rick.

Now, how do I talk y'all into integrating the FB data with the other apparati? [:D]

RE: "y'all", I no longer work at Logos/Faithlife (note my employee logo has been replaced with the MVP star here in the forums), so you'll need to talk with someone else about annotation of more resources.

However, earlier in the year, the following apparatuses were annotated for Factbook. Note they require special licensing (included with various L10 packages) for the Factbook annotation to be available.

    • NT
      • NA27
      • NA28
      • UBS5
      • Tyndale
      • Tregelles
      • Tischendorf
      • Comfort's NTTTC
      • Metzger's TCGNT
      • Alford
      • NET Bible v1 notes
      • Maybe others? I can't recall the entire list offhand. But if it was an NT apparatus that cited manuscript sigla I think it was included.
      • Note this data was also integrated at the manuscript page level of the Manuscripts of the Greek New Testament resource, so each MS page entry has links to the apparatuses that cite a reference on that page.
    • LXX
      • Rahlfs
      • Swete
      • Göttingen volumes (those available before 2023)
