Elder vs Deacon
I am doing a study on the differences between an elder and a deacon in the church. What is a good way to use Logos to distinguish these terms?

I would recommend doing a word study on both of these terms, seeing what greek they link to and then doing word studies on those greek terms.

If you have any systematic theologies in your library, check out any chapters on church government or church polity. You also will want to look at systematic theologies of various denominations. For example, Presbyterians distintinguish between the office of elder and deacon, and in the office of elder, between teaching and ruling elders.

A methodological hint. You'll get more reliable results if you do a study on the roles of the elder and deacon, then note the differences. It may sound like a small difference but it makes a huge difference in removing personal bias. It's easy enough to use Logos to find all the references to the terms, identify the mentioned duties, then go through to find who all get assigned those duties to see what is unique to the office.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
