Triple click action

Hi,

In Program Settings, I have chosen "Text Selection" as "Word", "Double-click Action" as "Lookup" that takes me to my prioritized Lexicon, and Triple-click action as "Paragraph". I would like the Triple-Click action to take me to a commentary, say, the NIC. If it takes me to the NIC of the relevant book of the Bible, I can then use the "Parallel book sets" to go to my Prioritized commentary for that book of the Bible. If it is possible to do this, could someone let me know how to do this.

Alternatively, is it better to have one of the Quick links set to NIC series? I was trying to do this, but I could only drag one book of the Bible and not the entire series, which would not be helpful.

Triple-click will only select a Paragraph in a book.

A double-click will "lookup" your prioritized resource for whatever datatype you clicked

a word in a Bible translation with reverse interlinear:

will lookup that word in a dictionary if Prefer Lemmas (in Settings) = NO
will lookup the underlying original language word in a lexicon if Prefer Lemmas = YES

a word other than above:

will lookup that word in a dictionary or a lexicon (e.g. from a Greek/Hebrew bible).

a bible reference:

will usually lookup that passage in a bible, but a single click normally does that
you can change that only if you prioritize a Commentary higher than your Bibles.
otherwise, set a Commentary to "Send hyperlinks here" (Panel menu)

Thank you so much for the detailed response.

I think I missed stating my goal clearly in my question: I am in the Bible (say, the ESV) and I want to open a commentary for the verse that I am studying, but with as few a clicks as possible. I thought triple-click will do the job, but it cannot accomplish that, it seems. Based on my understanding of your response, it looks like even double-click doesn't achieve that. I experimented with setting a commentary to "Send hyperlinks here". This is a nice feature. But it requires a hyperlinked verse, which is not available when I am in the ESV.

So the question, which I could rephrase to elicit a more general answer is: what is the best way to open a commentary while reading the Bibl? [Any commentary would be ok because I have collections for each book of the Bible and I have prioritized commentaries for (almost) each book the Bible, so I can easily toggle to my favorite commentary using "Parallel book sets"]

Much better! But do you literally want to open a commentary?

if you Prioritize a one-volume Commentary in the top five of your bibles, you can perform a Lookup from the Context Menu

select Reference and then choose the commentary under Look up.

Use Multiple Books in your bible and select a Commentary. You can toggle the latter between "open" and "close".
You can link a commentary to your bible with Link sets (both have to be open).

this is the best way IMHO
