Some Search Help Please

I am trying to figure out how to use the instructions in the Lexham Figurative Language of the Bible Glossary to search for "Kingdom of Jesus as Jesus' Rule on Earth" which is catagorized as a metonymy. Here is my search {Label Figurative Language WHERE Target ~ <FigurativeLanguageTerm "Kingdom of Jesus as Jesus' Rule on Earth"} But I get an error saying I am missing a value for operator |{Label figurative...

I am using Logos 10, version 29.1.22

Where have I gone wrong?

This is Logos 9 syntax.

In Logos 10 you can use figurativeLanguageType:"Kingdom of Jesus as Jesus’ Rule on Earth"

It needed to be {Label Figurative Language WHERE Target ~ <FigurativeLanguageTerm Jesus' Rule on Earth>}

because the Target part of the Type is Jesus' Rule on Earth.

If you use the full Type value, it has to be

{Label Figurative Language WHERE Type ~ <FigurativeLanguageType Kingdom of Jesus as Jesus' Rule on Earth>}

to be converted correctly.

Graham supplied another Search term for Type only i.e. it is not a label search.

Hey everyone, I'm using Logos 10 (on MacBook), and trying to search instances where strongs:g37 is NEAR "shepherd". I know there is an instance in Acts 20 (NASB), however, I'm struggling with the syntax that would find this in the search operator.

Anyone know how I would change this syntax to find this instance?

strongs:G37 WITHIN 200 WORDS shepherd

Hi Justin - and welcome to the forums

Your syntax is correct but I guess the words aren’t in the same verse.

At the top of the Bible Search panel you should see the word Verse - click that and you should see the option to change to Chapter.

By default, searches are constrained to verses.

As indicated by Graham, use a Books Search for this.

The results in Acts 20:28, 32 are not related and "shepherd" is a verb.

To find relationships with G37, perform a Bible Word Study on ἁγιάζω (sanctify) and look at Clause Participants.
