My librarian said this article cited below is now in public domain but when I tried to find it and download it I cannot do so. Can someone tell me how I can access it using Logos?

JSTOR has it, you can sign up for 100 articles a month for free if you don't have an academic logon. (Alternative Access)

There no way to access it using Logos. Logos only has Journal of Biblical Literature volumes 100 and later. (There's currently a request to add the earlier volumes, which your vote would be appreciated on even if you wouldn't have the funds to buy them.)

However, the Internet Archive would have stuff like this once it's public domain, and indeed it does have this issue and that article. No need to sign up for an account like with JSTOR. All pages of the article are scanned and available there.

I question a librarian who would tell you something is now in public domain but wouldn't tell you how to find it online. You should feel free to ask the librarian to steer you in such directions. That's what they are there for!

Any idea why Logos doesn't have the earlier issues? Since they're public domain I would think the cost would be less. I also have no doubt these would be purchased by many.

I don't know, and none of us know. They likely have hundreds if not thousands of books and journals that people have requested, and they have a small staff and can't do everything. Surely this one isn't about not being able to get the rights, but more likely how much work it would be to make them Logos editions. The tagging for journals is probably more intense than for books which can largely be automated. Also, maybe in their experience, not enough people buy the journals to pay off the amount of work that goes into making them. Just a hunch.

Or maybe these simply haven't risen to the level of urgency of some of their other projects.
