My pastor did a Wednesday night service on the 4 Cs of leadership. He said he did a study and found an article by Bruce Winston. I’ve read that Article but want to find a few sources to back up my study. I do not understand how he based his argument. Can someone tell me how to find resources on this topic?.https://www.regent.edu/news-events/the-four-cs-of-christian-leadership/
Different people have different “C”s on this subject. I would omit onfiidence, for example, and others use different words, including “Chemistry”. You can find these by putting “the four cs of leadership” into a search engine (which I would hope you’ve already done before asking here).
But you are really asking a broader question on Christian leadership, and for that you would be best starting by searching leadership in a topic or Factbook search in Logos. The important thing is to understand the theology, not to make your points begin with the same letter. As leadership isn’t a word that appears in the Bible, you need to think a bit more laterally and possibly do some study on leaders in Scripture and reflect on how they led. There isn’t a search you can do in Logos that will give you the answers (and that isn’t a criticism of Logos).
Once you’ve thought about it theologically, you might want to read some of the (huge amount of) leadership literature that is available in Logos. Again, if you search on “leadership” in the Logos store you’ll find enough to keep you reading for the rest of your life.
This is a theological subject, but there are also Christians who write on the topic in the secular world, and secular writers who write helpful material as well, but they all need to be evaluated theologically and critically.
EDIT: I also suspect if you go to the Reading Lists function in Logos you’ll find some people have probably created Reading Lists that you can use as well. I think I even created one at one stage.
I did find your reading list. It was good. I have read Leadership by Peter G. Northouse. Northouse defines leadership as “a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.” This definition makes clear that leadership is not a trait or behavior. I am trying to find out what the biblical definition of leadership is. The closest thing I have been able to define is “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). Is leadership associated with the spiritual gifts? What is a good book on this topic?
The qualities of leadership God wants for the leaders of His church are listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. Also there is some great reading about leadership as follows:
